“You can’t practice construction law on a part-time basis,” observes Herman Braude, founder of Braude Law Group, P.C. “It’s a specialty. It’s all we do.”
Braude Law Group is based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Its clients include general contractors, subcontractors, specialty contractors, design professionals, and owners of large-scale commercial projects.
Braude Law Group lawyers have settled or litigated complex commercial cases throughout the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. Braude Law Group has successfully litigated cases on behalf of Saudi Arabian contractors on the Peace Shield Department of Defense project and was partners with Sheik Sultan, one of the rulers of Umm Al-Quwain in the United Arab Emirates. Braude Law Group also represented Chinese contractors against the Trump Organization on the Trump World Tower and successfully litigated a case on the Las Vegas Sands Expo Center, which decision was upheld by the Nevada Supreme Court.
Braude Law Group was recently successful in obtaining a decision from the Federal Circuit for the District of Columbia on a landmark Miller Act claim which allowed quantum meruit (reasonable value for the work performed), delay damages, and reimbursement of on-site supervision against the Miller Act surety. The firm established, some fifty years earlier, the first cases allowing quantum meruit and delay damages in the District of Columbia.
Braude Law Group continues to handle cases on an hourly basis, a contingent fee basis, and oftentimes on a mixed hourly/contingent fee basis in order to allow small and medium-size contracting firms the affordability of professional legal representation.
